Where is Belizean Cove Estates?

Belizean Cove Estates is located on the island of Ambergris Caye in Belize, Central America. Ambergris Caye is the largest of many islands in Belize and is Belize’s most popular tourist destination. San Pedro is the only town on the island. Belizean Cove is located just 3 miles north of San Pedro town, away from the hustle, bustle, traffic and noise, but still easily accessible via golf cart, bicycle or water taxi.

How do I get to Belizean Cove Estates?

The first step is to get to Belize. Belize’s International Airport is named Philip Goldson International Airport, code (BZE). Airlines that service BZE include: American, Avianca, Delta, United, TACA, Southwest, COPA and Tropic Air.

Guests arriving to Belize must transfer via regional flight to the island of Ambergris Caye, a scenic 17-minute journey that will take you over Belize’s Barrier Reef. Maya Island Air is Belize’s leading, domestic, commercial passenger airline offering Air Travel, Tours, Charters and Freight Services. They operate daily, scheduled flights to several destinations including San Pedro, Dangriga and Placencia. Maya Island Air is your convenient gateway to the many private islands, seaside resorts and mainland activities unique to the country. Let their friendly and courteous staff ensure that your flying needs are met, and your experience with them is the best in Belize!

The island’s airstrip is located in San Pedro Town. We are pleased to arrange your regional flight; the cost of US$167.50 pp. will simply be added to your account for payment upon booking. Please note that we do not assess a fee for booking your flights; this is simply a service we provide to our guests.

Once you land in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, our representative will meet you and will send you up to our property on the next available transfer. There is a surcharge of US$30 per person for round-trip transportation from San Pedro Town to Belizean Cove Estates, arrival and departure transfers leave once per hour.

What is Belizean Cove Estates?

Belizean Cove Estates is a collection of luxury villa units that combine the privacy and exclusivity of a tropical house rental, with the comfort and convenience of Front Desk and Concierge Services during the day. We are not a resort and we do not have a restaurant, bar or gift shop onsite, only registered guests are permitted on our property.

Yes, many of our units are designed so that they can also be rented as 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom villas or a standard room. It’s important to note these configurations may not include kitchen and other facilities.

What amenities are in my room?

All villas feature ceiling fans, air conditioning, WIFI, Cable Television including all major networks and specialty channels including HBO and movie channels, telephone, full kitchens, quality linens and towels, gorgeous views and more.

Can I bring my pet?

For the safety and comfort of all of our guests, pets are not allowed. There is a boarding facility in San Pedro Town that can safely house your pet while on the island.

Does the property provide beach towels?

Towel Cards are provided upon check in these can be traded for pool towels upon request.

How about WIFI?

Complimentary WIFI is provided in all suites. Please note that the WIFI service in Belize is not as fast or reliable as you may be accustomed to. You will be able to check and send emails and post pictures on Facebook to update your friends, but you should not expect to download large files or stream entertainment during your stay.

Is there a spa onsite?

Escape Day Spa, our mobile spa partner, offers a complete menu of spa services to treat your mind, body and soul. The spa treatments use locally sourced organic products as much as possible. In the verdant land of Belize many of these products can be found close to home. Escape Day Spa’s signature organic coconut oil is sourced straight from the producers in Corozal Town. The oil is kept 100% pure, and is never mixed with any other oils.

Manicures, Pedicures and Facials can be done in your suite while you have a choice of in-room, on your balcony or on property for massages. Treatments can be pre-booked or arranged once you are onsite.

What’s all the fuss about Sea Grass?

We’re not sure, and as most divers are aware Sea Grass is a vital part of the eco system. It’s important to us that our guests are aware the sea beds in Belize have Sea Grass or “Turtle Grass” growing, this is harmless and in fact is an important part of Belize’s ecosystem. This grass is able to grow in our shallow waters as we have such strong protection from the World’s second-largest barrier reef. This means Belize doesn’t have those traditional walk in beaches like Cancun for example, nor do we have those black-flag, strong undertow days where you can’t safely swim. Our waters are warm, calm and shallow for quite a ways out. Many of our guests enjoy swimming off of our dock. During your stay on Ambergris Caye, you will see locals as well as tourists swimming off of the island’s many docks where the water is deeper.

What about the Sargassum Seaweed I have read about?

Periodically, coastal areas of the southern USA, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean will experience periods of Sargassum Seaweed washing ashore. Sargassum comes from the Sargasso Sea in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and is normally kept at bay by water temperatures and currents. We work diligently to keep our area clear however guests should be aware when visiting coastal areas that seaweed may be present.

How do I get started planning my destination wedding at Belizean Cove Estates?

The first step to booking your wedding is by contacting our wedding coordinator via phone call(1.844.360.1553) to check wedding date availability and to go over your wedding details. Once your wedding date is available, you being the bride and groom will be required to book your room through the reservations department(reservations@belizeancove.com). After confirming your room reservation, we will send you our wedding Contract and Credit Card Form to guarantee your Wedding Date. Planning your special Day starts right after your Wedding Package is paid in full. A Banquet Event Order which details the ceremony, reception and any other events will be sent to you approximately 30 days prior to your wedding date for your approval.

How far is Belizean Cove Estates from San Pedro Town?

We are located approximately 3 miles north of San Pedro Town outside of the hustle and bustle, yet still accessible to town via water taxi, bicycle or golf cart.

During my stay, how can I travel to/from San Pedro Town?

During the day between the hours of 8am and 4pm, guests can take advantage of complimentary bicycles to get to/from San Pedro Town.

Golf Carts are also a great way to explore the island and the vast majority of our guests will have us arrange a golf cart rental for the duration of their stay. Please email us at guestservices@belizeancove.com to request golf cart information and rates. Please note during times of high occupancy such as Easter and Christmas, pre-bookings are strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

What should I pack?

Life on the island is casual and relaxed, so you should pack comfortable clothing and you may wish to pack your own dive gear. Insect repellent and sunscreen are a must along with any medications and personal items such as eyeglasses, contact lenses and contact lens solution. A flashlight and light rain jacket can come in handy when Mother Nature strikes.

What about money?

Belize currency is fixed to the US dollar at US$1 = BZ$$2. US cash and major credit cards are widely accepted. At Belizean Cove, charges incurred from our Mobile Spa service, tours and golf cart rentals arranged through our concierge, can all be charged to your room for easy payment upon departure. Please note that the nearest ATM is located in San Pedro Town.

How many wedding guests can Belizean Cove Estates host?

What is there to do?

Many of our guests will be out on the water during the day while others may be enjoying mainland adventures. For those with less lofty aspirations we recommend: sleeping in, swinging in a hammock with a good book, enjoying the sun poolside, taking advantage of the complimentary bicycles, SUP paddleboards or kayaks, booking a massage, heading to town for shopping and bar-hopping or learning how to prepare an authentic Belizean meal in your suite.

At night, our area is generally quiet. Some guests head to town or bars within walking distance, while others will enjoy stargazing from the dock or retire to their room to relax. All rooms are equipped with Cable TV featuring all major USA Networks as well as HBO, Showtime, ESPN, and Encore Movie Channels.

Brushstrokes Villa

Featuring paintings and sculptures by Belizean artists, Brushstrokes has a casual island flair. This light and airy vacation villa is furnished with a mix of comfortable imported and locally designed furniture, using Belizean Mahogany and other indigenous hardwoods. The beautiful kitchen is large and well equipped and has an adjoining dining area that accommodates up to eight persons. The comfortable living room features an entertainment system with a 42-inch high definition TV, and a Bose surround sound system, as well as an iPod docking station. You can enjoy a spectacular beachfront sunrise breakfast on the marble decked veranda adjoining the beautiful pool patio.

The master bedroom, with king bed and luxurious bathroom with shower and whirlpool tub, has a magnificent ocean view. The second bedroom, with queen bed, is decorated in whimsical island colors and a darling third bedroom, with two twin beds, features a Mayan theme in its décor. Villa del Mar

Villa del Mar offers unsurpassed luxury and comfort for up to eight guests. This spacious second floor unit is located in the heart of the property and combines complete privacy with sweeping views of the designer pool, palm fringed beach, the barrier reef, and the Caribbean Sea. Special features include vaulted and recessed ceilings, Mexican marble floors and pillars, and custom furnishings from Bali. Antiques and art celebrate Belize and her wonderful people past and present, with a tasteful combination of colonial wood panels and old bottles from the owner’s personal collection, and vibrant oil paintings from many of the country’s most renowned artists including Walter Castillo.

Villa del Mar’s fully-equipped gourmet kitchen features granite countertops and breakfast bar, high-end stainless steel appliances and cookware, with a spacious adjoining dining area that accommodates eight guests. The master bedroom and back bedroom both have king beds while the second front bedroom boasts two queens. All are fitted with pillow top mattresses and fine linens, and have private bathrooms with stone sinks and glass showers. The front bedrooms feature glass doors, allowing guests to greet the sea each morning from the comfort of their beds while the back bedroom offers a private entrance and views of our lush gardens, mangrove forests, and the lagoon.

Caribbean Soul Villa

Enjoy spectacular views and incomparable luxury, in this beachfront oasis. Caribbean Soul Villa is located on the first floor and features tiled marble floors, and vaulted ceilings, which accentuate how, open and spacious this Villa is. From its private, fully furnished, poolside verandah, Caribbean Soul offers one of the most amazing beach, barrier reef, and ocean views on Ambergris Caye.

This same view can be enjoyed, unobstructed, from inside the oversized living room, through the 20ft. long wall of windows and glass doors, opening directly out onto the verandah. Furnished beautifully with comfortable seating for at least 12 people, the enormous living room also boasts a 50″ plasma high definition TV and an iHome iPod stereo docking station with subwoofer, and cable television.

A fully-equipped, gourmet kitchen, with granite countertops, and a breakfast bar with seating for four, offers every kitchen convenience imaginable, with state of the art appliances and cookware. The dining room offers spacious seating for eight people, and breathtaking views of the ocean.

The entrance to Caribbean Soul is via another verandah, also marble decked. This wonderful outdoor space, has beautiful views of the reef, and is the perfect place to watch the sun as it sets over the lagoon, or as it rises over the ocean.

The master suite overlooks the ocean, and offers gorgeous sunrise views from a king size bed. The luxurious marble bathroom features a whirlpool bathtub, a marble standing shower, and dual marble sinks, is joined to the bedroom by a walk-through closet. The bedroom is furnished with a 32″ high definition flat panel TV, and offers the ultimate in privacy and luxury.

The “French Door” bedroom, given the name because of its glass paned, double French doors, with views of the ocean, and pool, offers a queen size bed, oversized closets, and a private, marble bathroom, with standing shower.

The “Sunset” bedroom, also complete with private marble bathroom with standing shower, and ample closet space, has it’s own private entrance, providing indoor/outdoor access. This bedroom is furnished with a king bed and offers beautiful views of the sun as it sets in the evening.

Our three bedrooms are decorated with floral bedding and artwork that will make feel the tranquility of the Caribbean. Villa Watina

Located on the second floor, Villa Watina enjoys stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and barrier reef from almost every room. Much of the furniture and décor was hand crafted in Belize by local artists and craftsmen. There are three bedrooms, each with their own private bath. The master bedroom offers a king sized bed and adjoining spacious bathroom with shower, whirlpool tub and two sinks. Guest bedroom one features a hand crafted, queen-sized bamboo canopy bed and its own bath with shower, and also a slider to the veranda. Bedroom two is decorated in Mayan style with a beautiful queen-sized bed, bureau and night stands crafted right on Ambergris Caye. It too offers a private bath.

If you would like to do some cooking during your stay, the spacious gourmet kitchen is completely appointed with everything you need to prepare delicious meals. Also, be sure to bring your CD’s or iPod and enjoy all your favorite music with the iPod ready 6 speaker surround stereo system in the spacious living room.
