Yucatecan Cooking Class Now Available!
Grand Velas Riviera Maya now offers foodies an experience inspired by recipes of the region. Guest can join the resort’s Mayan Chef Humberto May Tamay in exploring the Mexican flavors of traditional Yucatecan cuisine during an intimate cooking class. Traditional techniques are showcased during the class which results in a three-course meal of recipes that have been passed from generation to generation and kept as the jewels of the Yucatan peninsula’s cuisine. Sample dishes included Mexican “antojitos” like empanadas and gorditas; tikinxic (pronounced “teekeen sheek”). Each guest will receive a copy of the recipes and a Grand Velas apron to take home.

Available for 10 – 16 people per session. Class takes place at the resort’s Yucatán restaurant. There is a cost associated to take the class.
