Transfer to hotel – La Falconeria

Look out over the city of Valletta while choosing what part of it to explore first

Unwind in the chic La Falconeria in the Valletta region of Malta. With beautiful views, a subterranean pool, an on-site bar, and a gym the guests are welcome to use. Those staying with the Falconeria have access to the 24-hour front desk and car rentals provided by the hotel.

Rooms are comfortable and stylish, some with views of either the city or the sea. They feature a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, a safe, ironing facilities, coffee or tea making facilities, a hair dryer, and private bathrooms complete with toiletries, slippers, and bathrobes. The National Museum of Fine Arts and the Upper Barrakka Gardens is just 1,300 feet from the hotel, and the Malta International Airport is a little over 3 miles away.

Day 02 :
Valletta

Take the day to explore the stunning capital city of Valletta. Known for its museums, palaces, and grand churches, be sure to bring your camera to capture this city that seems to glow in the sunlight, radiating warmth and history down every narrow stone street.

Valletta City Tour (half-day)

Discover the beauty and charm of the fortified city built by the Knights of St. John in 1566 – the capital of Malta, Valletta. The Order of St. John ruled over the islands for 268 years and left a unique cultural legacy of which Valletta is the prime example. Take in the beautiful views over the Grand Harbor from the Upper Barrakka Gardens before heading out to visit St. John’s Co-Cathedral. Admire Flemish tapestries, the church museum, Caravaggio masterpieces in the Oratory, and the beautiful marble inlaid floors.

Going down Republic Street, walk past the Grand Master’s Palace and the recently restored St. George’s Square before enjoying an audio-visual show of Malta’s history.

Day 03 :
Valletta

Enter the fortified city of Mdina today on a full-day tour. This city sits in the center of the island of Malta and was once the capital of the nation during the medieval period. Enjoy the wonders this city has to offer from subterranean, winding catacombs to towering, colorful cathedrals.

Mdina Tour, including lunch (full-day)

Stand in awe before the amazing fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s capital in medieval times. Explore the winding streets, imposing bastions, and enjoy beautiful views of the island. Learn about Siculo-Norman palaces, baroque buildings, the Greeks’ Gate, and early Christian Catacombs in Rabat. Enjoy lunch after seeing the cliffs at Dingli, then continue on the visit the San Anton botanical gardens near the Presidential Palace. Relax and shop through the crafts center at Ta’ Qali before stopping at one of Europe’s largest dome, the majestic Rotunda of Mosta.

Day 04 :
Valletta

Leave the main island of Malta for one of the larger of the 21 surrounding islands that make up Malta’s archipelago. Explore Gozo, where rural hiking paths run along the country side, Ggantija Temple ruins are strewn about historical sites, beaches stretch for miles and scuba-diving can be found at multiple sites.

Gozo Tour including lunch (full-day)

Take a 20-minute ferry ride to Malta’s sister island, Gozo. While both islands are similar in history, Gozo has more hills and has rolling green landscapes in its favor. During this excursion, visit the Azure Window at Dwejra, the citadel in Victoria, the bay of Xlendi, and more. You’ll also have free time for shopping – Gozo is renown for its woolen goods and handmade lace.

Day 05 :
Valletta

Today is your last full day in Malta. You could rent a boat to explore some of the other islands nearby in the archipelago like Comino, which has stunning beaches, or explore the beautiful gardens, museums, and shopping districts to bring a piece of Malta home with you.

Make sure you’ve got all of your souvenirs before heading off to the airport to catch your flight home!
