Day 02 :
Athens

Enjoy breakfast, then embark on your included Athens Sightseeing Tour! Follow your expert guide and take tons of photos of the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum. Explore Syntagma Square, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Parthenon, and much more!

Athens Sightseeing Tour (with Acropolis)

Discover the secrets of Athens, including its famous Acropolis on your sightseeing tour! Your expert guide will take you to see the center of the city, the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library.

On your way to the Acropolis you will see the Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Modern Olympic Games were held in 1896.

On the Acropolis visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally the famous Parthenon.

Your first taste of Athens would not be complete without a visit to the Acropolis Museum, a modern architectural building where, at last, the statues have found their home. Here, you can admire the wonders and architectural masterpieces of the classical era.

Recharge during breakfast, then depart for your 4-day tour of Classical Greece! Drive along scenic coastal roads and over the famous Corinth Canal. Snap photos of the imposing landscape in the Corinth Canal’s protected waters, one of the world’s engineering masterpieces of the 19th-century, which holds history that dates back as far as 602 B.C.!

Continue on to Epidaurus and discover its 4th-century B.C. theater, famous for its astonishing acoustics. Next, stop in Nafplion, a modern seaside resort and old town, crowned by the mighty ramparts at the Palamidi Fortress. The last stop of the day will take place at Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides – the city “rich in gold” of the ancient poets. After visiting Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs, depart for Olympia. Travel through Central Peloponnese, Tripoli, and Megalopoli until you arrive at your luxurious hotel for dinner.

Start the morning off strong with a visit to Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the idea and site of the Ancient Olympic Games. Explore the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus and the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, which hosts the famous statues of Praxiteles, Hermes, and other treasures.

Continue on through Achaia and Rio, then pass through the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos and Itea towards Delphi. Keep your eyes out during the drive – something beautiful is around every turn! Settle into your hotel, then enjoy dinner and excitedly discuss your next adventure-filled day.

After an energizing breakfast, head out on your tour to Delphi. Located on the slopes of Mount Parnasus, Delphi, once believed as the center “Naval” of the Earth, is home to the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. At the oracle of Apollo, Pythia, the high priestess of the temple, under the influence of the ancient god Apollo, delivered her famous prophesies.

While in Delphi, you’ll visit the Treasury of the Athenians and the Delphi Museum, which hosts valuable pieces of art, such as the famous bronze Charioteer of Delphi. After a full day of history and sightseeing, relax on the ride to Kalambaka, then cozy up in your hotel.

Today, visit the majestic monasteries of Meteora! Perched atop huge granite rocks, these breathtaking monasteries seem to suspend between the earth and the sky, providing truly awe-inspiring views.

After sifting through each monastery’s priceless historical and religious treasures, treat yourself to a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Athens. On the way, make a pit-stop at the memorial of Leonidas and the brave 300 Spartans in Thermopylae!

Check in to Athens Hotel

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the Athens port of Piraeus or Rafina and hop on the ferry to Mykonos! Relax on this scenic 2-hour boat ride and take tons of photos as you approach the beautiful island of white and blue.
